The conference will deliver presentations designed to foster courage in caregivers.  Sessions in the morning will address caregiving skills, including  effective communication and legal and financial planning.  You'll also have a chance to ask the experts your specific questions!

The afternoon will focus on encouragement and self-care.  Learn practical strategies for caring for yourself that will help you care for your loved one.  Visit tables to try out different self-care strategies and discover what works for you!

​

Registration starts at 8:30 am.  Sessions start at 9:00 am.
 

 

  • Early Registration Fee: $20.00

  • After  June 14th: $30.00

  • Fee includes a light breakfast and boxed lunch.

  • Respite Fee - Free: Free onsite companion services (respite) for persons with dementia.    

  • Pre-registration for this service is required by June 14, 2019

La conferencia ofrecerá cursos educativos diseñados para fomentar el coraje en los cuidadores. Las sesiones de la mañana abordaran las habilidades de cuidado, que incluyen el entendimiento de la enfermedad de Alzheimer y la demencia; el planeo financiero y legal; y por ultimo las estrategias para una comunicacion efectiva entre el cuidador y la persona con Alzheimer.

 

La tarde se centrara en el cuidado personal de un cuidador. Aprenderan estrategias practicas para cuidar a usted mismo cuales ayudaran a cuidar mejor a sus seres querido. !El cuidador que se cuida, cuida mejor!

 

Las puertas abren a las 8:30 a.m. Las sesiones comienzan a las 9:00 a.m.

 

  • Cuota de inscripción anticipada: $20.00

El precio incluye un desayuno ligero y almuerzo en caja.

The Alzheimer’s Association, Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter, supports diagnosed individuals, their families and caregivers, and the professionals who care for them.  The Chapter offers support groups, educational programs, individualized planning provided by licensed professionals, and community resource lists.  It operates a 24-hour toll-free Helpline, Early Stage Programs, Safety Services for those at risk of wandering, training programs for healthcare professionals, and engages with governmental agencies and academic institutions to promote Alzheimer’s research and improved care and support.  Last year more than 1,000,000 individuals were reached through cumulative program and education efforts, health fairs, advocacy activities, newsletters and website contact.
